Are you ready for your credit card? You can already have your credit card, but when you do not, there will be numerous options to get one on-campus.
Lots of credit agencies set tables in the common places of university or college campuses to maintain students to sign up for credit card. They could give you such freebies as T-shirts, coffee mugs, water bottles, etc. when you fill out a request. It is easy, but you should think twice before doing this.
Unluckily, most of the credit cards provided on-campus might not be a great value. In accordance to a survey by the American Public Interest Research Group, students taking cards at campus tables have much higher unpaid balances than the students who do not. Having high and unpaid balances is the fast way to incur much debt and miss a deadline in payments.
But there are numerous benefits of having credit cards. Using credit cards can assist you to create a positive credit history. It can improve your capability to obtain private student loans, acquire a car, hire an apartment, find a job, and even buy a house.
The advantages to credit cards:
1) security in emergencies;
2) smaller need to carry checks and cash; and
3) increase personal independence and responsibility.
